Little Village Early Learning Bridgeman Downs, North of Brisbane, is opening in 2019 to provide quality early learning and childcare for babies and children aged 6 weeks to school age, as well as offering kindergarten and a bush kindy program to children 3+.
The Bridgeman Downs Community
“Bridgeman Downs is a unique environment - a peaceful green pocket just twenty minutes north of the CBD. In its current renewal, young families are choosing this area to build their homes and bring up their families. We are excited to join and contribute to this growing community."
What’s important to us
Central to our ethos is the belief that ‘it takes a village to raise a child.’ Our vision is to create and build a caring community that supports children and their families in the important years before school.
This 10,000m2 site on Ridley Road, Bridgeman Downs has provided us an opportunity to create a unique early learning environment while protecting a nature reserve for wildlife, flora and fauna. Important in our design, is the ability to harvest water, use solar energy and recycle effectively.
Alongside our own natural reserve, we are building our own ‘little village’ with connected learning environments for each age and stage of a child’s development.
Our Learning Environment
Our nursery pod provides a very gentle entry into childcare with two homelike studios opening onto sheltered verandas and natural play spaces. In these studios important milestones are reached –connecting with carers and peers, crawling walking and communicating who we are.
Two neighbouring studios open to the junior playground where paths take our new walkers through an engaging environment. In allowing for indoor and outdoor flow, children can follow their interests in a safe and supportive environment.
A healthy environment, an active program and healthy meals support our active toddler’s development.
Pre-Kindy & Kindergarten
Our senior pod is for children three years to school age. Each studio opens to a natural play-scape, designed to support a child’s development. Follow a path or a bridge to find a playhouse, veggie garden, mud kitchen or a water-play area. Your child’s group-time may be in the studio, in a tree house or in the yarning circle!
Each of our studios provide an inspiring and flexible environment that supports children’s interests, learning and development.
Our reception includes state-of-the-art access and security, communication and operating systems. Above our reception, generous staff facilities provide a quiet space for our educators for planning or relaxing on a break. Looking after our team is just as important as looking after our children so our staff are supported to be the very best educators they can be.
We are guided by the government approved Early Years Learning Framework, which provides the principles and practices for our programs.

In planning curriculum, we consider each child’s culture and interests.
Within our property, we will be offering our own ‘Little Forest’ bush kindy program.
We believe nature play promotes cognitive, social and emotional development and builds resilience and creativity - all skills that help a child on the journey to school and life.
We will be offering an accredited kindergarten program in a flexible long day care setting. Qualified and experienced teachers will develop a program that lays the foundations for lifelong learning. Our 22 place studios allow for small group learning with the opportunity to extend our program into the surrounding studios and the wider community.
Understanding how vital nutrition is in a child’s development, we will be providing fresh, healthy, meals, made in our on-site kitchen each day by our qualified chef. Children and their educators share meals together in a home-like setting to encourage healthy life-long habits.
We are developing a family friendly centre focusing on the needs of the whole family with strong support for working parents and providing everything your baby or child needs so your day is a little easier
